OUR STORY

We are the very proud owners of Mrs T, a 1978 bay window VW camper, our true home from home, perfect in every way (apart from the endless list of jobs to do). In the 19 years we’ve owned her she’s gone through several engines and had a full back to bare metal make over by us. Despite the minor reliability worries she’s successfully taken us all over the UK and Europe covering more than 80,000 miles on many unforgettable adventures. She also made a very comfortable home for four whole months on our honeymoon taking us as far south as the tip of Croatia.

​Our other van ‘the workhorse', a 2009 VW T5, gets much less attention in the looks department but causes a fraction less anxiety in the reliability department. The T5 bears the brunt of endless muddy feet and paws, buckets of sand and sea water and the day-to-day commercial requirements of a man never more at home than machining something up in the garage A-Team style.

​​As anyone who spends as much time in VW vans as we do will know, there's always something you want to tweak or modify. And so Ruggeddub was born, our little collection of ideas thought up over our many, many miles of van life!
